BATON ROUGE, La. — Jeramine McCurley, who is accused of stealing an Acadian ambulance and leading law enforcement officers on a multi-parish chase before crashing the rig, has been released from a hospital and booked into jail, WAFB reported Tuesday.

McCurley was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Saturday. He has been charged with flight from an officer and aggravated battery.

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office said that the man was being transported to a hospital. As EMS providers were trying to unload him there, he got into the driver’s seat of the rig and drove off.
