BELLWOOD, Ill. — An EMS provider who was critically injured when an ambulance crashed into a building died Sunday from his injuries.
ABC7 reported that the Excell ambulance was transporting patient Larry Marshall Jr. from a dialysis appointment when James Wesley, the driver of the ambulance, apparently lost control and crashed into a building.
Marshall and Wesley were pronounced dead on the scene, and the critically injured EMS provider was transported to the hospital, where he later died.
Mayor Andre Harvey said it’s unclear why the driver lost control of the ambulance.
“We’re gonna try to get an autopsy done on the driver to see if he suffered a medical condition or anything else, but at this point it’s too early to tell,” he said.
