DETROIT — Two EMTs and two police officers were injured Saturday when a cruiser crashed into an ambulance.
Detroit Free Press reported that the police cruiser and the ambulance were heading in two different directions when the cruiser crashed into the ambulance, causing it to roll over, according to officials.
Two EMTs, along with a patient they were transporting, were inside of the ambulance at the time. One of the EMTs became trapped inside of the rig, and was rescued by responders. Both of the EMTs were transported to the hospital in serious condition.
One of the police officers was also trapped inside of the cruiser, which was pushed up against a house porch. He was extricated and transported to the hospital, along with his partner. One was reported to be in stable condition, and the other was in serious condition.
The patient inside of the ambulance was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
The crash is currently under investigation.
