HAMPSHIRE, England — Two teen girls were arrested for attacking a paramedic crew that responded to a hoax emergency call they made.

BBC reported that the paramedic crew was “extremely shaken” after two girls, 13 and 14, allegedly threw bricks, tables, chairs, glasses and books at them from an upstairs window while they responded to a fake call about a 13-year-old girl in cardiac arrest.

“What makes this even worse is that all the staff and vehicles we sent were diverted from local people in genuine pain and distress with real illnesses, real injuries and real emergencies by our equally frustrated and appalled control room team,” a South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust spokesperson said. “So, if you’ve been waiting longer for us this evening in the local area, this is the reason why.”

The crewmembers were not harmed in the incident, but officials said the ambulance and rapid response car will need to be repaired.

The two girls were arrested on suspicion of assault and are currently in police custody.
