EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, Mo. — A mother of two died in a head-on collision with an ambulance Wednesday morning.
Teresa Howell, 28, was driving with her two children aged 5 and 6 in the car when she lost control of the vehicle and slid into the oncoming lane, colliding head-on with an ambulance.
The ambulance was not transporting a patient at the time and it wasn’t responding to an emergency call, FOX 4 News reported.
The icy road likely caused the incident. The ambulance responding to the crash also slid off the road, but no one in either ambulance was hurt.
The two children were taken to a hospital with minor and moderate injuries. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said everyone in the car was wearing a seat belt.
