EXETER BOROUGH, Pa. An Exeter Borough ambulance caught fire Monday evening in front of the Exeter Community Ambulance building on Wyoming Avenue.

Battery acid and a strong odor was coming from the engine before the vehicle erupted in flames, Exeter Fire Chief Rich McNeil said.

Workers had moved the ambulance out of the garage, 1090 Wyoming Ave., and brought it across the street because of the smell. Just moments later, a resident notified the firefighters that their ambulance was burning.
