FARMINGTON, N.H. — Presidential candidate Donald Trump addressed the state’s growing heroin problem at Farmington High School Monday night.

Trump said his plan to build a wall across the U.S. border with Mexico will stem the flow of illegal drugs into the country, ABC reported.

He also talked about the importance of treatment and prevention.

“We can just stop it with where they don’t start. And we can talk to people and talk to the kids and say ‘don’t do it,’” Trump said.

Trump, who said he abstained from drugs and alcohol for a long time, said substance addiction is “a very tough thing,” adding he has known several people who struggled with it.

“We are going to help people that have the problem and try to get them off,” he said. “But what really is easy is to convince everybody ‘don’t take it.’”
