HAMDEN, Conn. — A group of firefighters was exhilarated to be present for the miracle of birth late Thursday afternoon, and the baby’s parents were thankful that the men were in the right place at the right time.
Susan and Joel Mastroianni already had been to the hospital once Thursday and stopped at her obstetrician’s office on the way home.
Baby Lily was due Monday, but Susan had been scheduled to be induced Friday.
