CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A former MEDIC worker is accused of inappropriately touching a female patient.
Julio Lizarazo, 48, of Matthews, was scheduled to appear in court on Friday on a misdemeanor charge of sexual battery but his case was continued to Jan. 19, court records show. A charge of assault on a female was added on Friday, Observer news partner WBTV reported.
Police arrested and charged Lizarazo on Aug. 16, jail records show. He was released the same day after posting $2,500 bail.
The patient told WBTV that she was inappropriately touched while being transferred from a hospital in Steele Creek to one in Pineville for an illness. She said she was inappropriately touched again in her hospital room.
Lizarazo lost his job the same day of his arrest, according to WBTV.
