A 38 year old male suffered decompression sickness over 100 nautical miles out to sea in the Capricorn Coast region. The patient was initially retrieved by a Water Police vessel and taken on board to await the arrival of RACQ CAPRICORN RESCUE. Upon arrival RACQ CAPRICORN RESCUE winched a Rescue Crewman, Intensive Care Paramedic and stretcher onto the deck of the Police boat. The patient was winched into RACQ CAPRICORN RESCUE and taken to Rockhampton in a stable condition, with onward transport to Brisbane arranged.
