WASHINGTON — The Promoting Innovation in Emergency Medical Services project will hold its national steering committee meeting Sept. 21, in Washington.
The two-year PIE project aims to address current regulatory, financial and technological barriers to improving EMS in the U.S. and create a national framework document of actionable, tangible recommendations that local, state and national entities can use.
The PIE project team has collected input from EMS and health care stakeholders from around the country to identify specific barriers to EMS innovation and set out to create recommendations to overcome these barriers.
At the national meeting, hosted at the Kaiser Family Foundation’s Barbara Jordan Conference Center, the project team will further develop the recommendations.
The project is funded and supported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Health Affairs.
