WASHINGTON — A new infographic, marking the 50th anniversary of the groundbreaking white paper on accidental death and disability, highlights the key moments in the history of EMS.

Some of the transformative events displayed in the infographic include the first 911 call in 1968, creation of the Star of Life in 1977, the creation of the EMS for Children program in 1984, the publication of the EMS Agenda for the Future in 1996, the 2005 passage of the Enhanced 911 Act which improved public safety telecommunications and the launch of EMS Compass in 2014.
