PITTSFIELD, N.H. — A three-vehicle accident on Route 28 in Pittsfield yesterday afternoon sent six people to Concord Hospital for treatment.

There were no fatalities, though some of the injured had “potentially serious injuries,” said Pittsfield fire Chief Gary Johnson. He didn’t have information on their conditions or identities.

It appears a Chevy Cavalier traveling westbound on Route 28 swerved to avoid a Toyota Tacoma crossing the highway on Upper City Road, said Pittsfield police Officer John Webber.

Webber said the Cavalier then hit a Toyota Corolla at the intersection.

The Tacoma received damage to its frontin the crash.

Emergency medical personnel from Pittsfield, Barnstead and Epsom responded to the scene and took the injured to the hospital, Johnson said.

The crash closed Route 28 yesterday afternoon while the police took measurements and removed the damaged vehicles. Webber said the crash remains under investigation.
