Ala. fire department kicks out trainees accused of cheating
Seven trainees are accused of cheating during an EMT exam
MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Montgomery officials say seven trainees in the fire and rescue department have been kicked out of the program after cheating during a test.
Multiple media outlets report that the trainees in the Montgomery Fire and Rescue Department are accused of cheating on an EMT exam. The department also has begun termination proceedings against a firefighter who administered the test.
Names were not released.
Public Safety Director Chris Murphy says the department acted "immediately and appropriately" after learning of the issue.
