Volunteer FF-EMT 20, killed in car crash

NANJEMOY, Md. — A Nanjemoy volunteer firefighter was killed in a car crash in the late evening Tuesday after a head-on collision on Route 425 in Nanjemoy, the Maryland State Police reported.

Autumn Marie Jenkins, 20, of Nanjemoy was pronounced dead on the scene. She served as a firefighter and emergency medical technician at the Nanjemoy Volunteer Fire Department.

According to the police report, the crash happened around 9:06 p.m. as Jenkins was driving a 2011 Kia Soul south on Route 425 south of Tim’s Place. During this time, Darren Loyce Windsor, 23, of Indian Head was in a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, traveling north along the same route. The truck then crossed the center line, crashing head-on with the Kia.
