NEW YORK — A movie centered around a paramedic team in New York City will be hitting theaters soon.
The thriller/drama “Asphalt City” features a young FDNY paramedic (Tye Sheridan) being paired with a seasoned partner (Sean Penn) on the night shift in New York City, Deadline reports. The movie takes an intense look at what it takes to be an EMT/paramedic in NYC.
The trailer shows the young paramedic facing moral and ethical turmoil and uncertainties that frequently determine the line between life and death.
Eric d’Arbeloff and Howard Cohen, co-presidents of Roadside Attractions, expressed that they were profoundly touched by the remarkable depiction of EMT life in the streets of New York, which forms the core of “Asphalt City.”
Based on Shannon Burke’s novel “Black Flies” and directed by Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire, “Asphalt City” is set to hit theaters on March 29, 2024.
