New Jersey high school plans to rescue EMT class

Southern Regional High School plans to salvage its emergency medical technician, or EMT, training course for the 2006-07 school year, said Craig Henry, assistant superintendent of the school district, on Monday.

“We’re going to try to put this in the course catalog and do so in an expeditious way for the upcoming school year,” Henry said.

The class is part of the larger Learning Academies Understanding New and Challenging Horizons, or LAUNCH, program that the school is cutting because of a lack of enrollment among students. The program includes other programs, such as hotel industry training.
