Departments in Los Angeles, London and Milan recently added the vehicles to their fleet. Depending on the area of use, the vehicles are provided with the corresponding design foils and roof bars.

A special signaling system, front and rear flashers, as well as pressure-chamber loudspeakers, allows responders to warn other drivers that they are on emergency assignment.

The vehicles also feature a permanently installed SIM card that allows the use of intelligent networking technology. The ConnectedRescue system, which is based on BMW Connected Drive, offers the possibility of transmitting information, such as addresses and reason for assignment, from the control center to the vehicle.
