Paramedics assaulted twice on the same call

The crew was attacked by the patient first and later the patient’s sister

OTTAWA — A Canadian paramedic crew, assaulted twice during an early morning call for service, doesn’t expect charges to be brought against the assailants.

The crew was called to treat an unconscious man who had fallen in the town of Metcalfe, reported the Ottawa Sun.

The man had allegedly hit his head after a night of drinking. The crew arrived just before 5 a.m. to the home. As they were providing treatment he regained consciousness and allegedly began assaulting the paramedics.

“His sister jumped them next,” said paramedic Darryl Wilton, adding that a second paramedic crew was called to help.
