1. Where did your company name originate from?
As the originator of the red dot sight, Aimpoint’s name evokes multiple meanings. Combining the words “aim” and “point” explains not only the product we create but also the philosophy on how easy shooting can be with a red dot sight.
2. What was the inspiration behind starting your company?
Founded in Sweden by a group of avid hunters, Aimpoint’s desire was to create a sighting technology that would allow shooters to acquire their target quickly, and to hit moving targets in all weather and lighting conditions consistently and accurately.
3. What is your signature product and how does it work?
Aimpoint’s signature products are red dot sights. There are various models but the concept behind them is simple – a reliable red dot that holds zero even under extreme weather conditions and lasts for years on one battery while remaining constantly on.
4. Why do you believe your products are essential to the law enforcement community?
Aimpoint sights have been in use by police, government, corrections, and other first responder personnel for decades because they are the most reliable, durable and accurate sighting systems on the market. Those who protect and serve trust their lives to Aimpoint sights and we are proud to serve them in this way.
5. What has been the biggest challenge your company has faced?
One of Aimpoint’s biggest challenges is informing the public about copies and lookalike sights that have flooded the market. We vigorously defend all our trademarks, copyrights, designs and patents in order to protect our brand for you, the end-user.

Aimpoint is unique in many ways – our products are known for their extremely long battery life, unmatched durability and intuitive features designed for ease-of-use when it counts. Our products are manufactured by hand in Sweden to withstand various types of abuse and any potential environmental stress.

The first responder community is the reason we believe so strongly in providing a reliable product that can be depended on no matter the environmental stress or situation. Yes; Aimpoint supports as many charitable organizations as we are able through product donations or other sponsorship levels, but we typically don’t publicize all that we support.
10. Is there any fun fact or trivia that you’d like to share with our users about you or your company?
One fun fact is that the Swedish inventor who conceived of the original red dot sight design did so while shaving in a concave mirror. The parabolic lens gave him the idea of a parallax-free optic. Aimpoint then developed the innovative technology, the company was founded, and the rest is history!
