November 20, 2010 – Austin, Texas: SLAM Texas EMS Emergency & Difficult Airway Management Course. The course will be held as a preconference workshop at Texas EMS in Austin, Texas. The course is approved for 10 hours of CEs by CECBEMS [for EMS], AARC [for respiratory therapists], ASTNA [for RNs] and AANA [for CRNAs]. The course includes lectures on decision making skills using the slam flowchart, oxygenation and ventilation in adults, direct laryngoscopy & tracheal intubation to include RSI, confirmation of tracheal intubation, rescue ventilation and use of videolaryngoscopy. All information will conform to the AHA 2010 Guidelines. Hands-on instruction using life-like Airsim Trucorp manikins as well as a porcine cricothyrotomy lab are also included.
