The Medicine in Remote Area Course (MIRA) has been developed to provide students who already have some experience in Pre-Hospital Care with the added skills and knowledge to be able to deal with a casualty in a remote environment. The course focuses on stabilization of the injured through to the knowledge and skills required for prolonged field care.

The MIRA course is certified by the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care, Royal College of Surgeons and Edinburgh, it is designed for those working in the oil/gas industry, the media industry, expedition and exploration personnel, medical support for disaster relief and humanitarian organizations, mountain rescue/search and rescue personnel.

At Exmed we aim to provide the essential underpinning knowledge and skills with an emphasis of understanding the “why” as well as the “how”. Therefore, when circumstances occur outside of the norm, MIRA trained personnel can adapt for the benefit of their injured colleagues.
