Evanston, Illinois — PEPID announced today the adoption of the EMS Plus NAEMSE Suite by Creighton University. PEPID software suites have not only been a trusted resource widely used by healthcare providers through out the world but are also commonly used in nursing schools through out the country. However, this is the first time an EMS Education program has made electronic medical reference a mandatory resource for students.
Incoming students will be required to obtain PEPID EMS Plus NAEMSE just like any other mandatory text. Students from Creighton’s outgoing class, who evaluated the PEPID software suite and provided the feedback that influenced the decision to adopt it, will also be able to purchase EMS Plus NAEMSE in the format that best suits their needs whether it be PDA, wireless or online (many student already utilize a Blackberry or Palm devices).
“I have met with all faculty, administrators, Dean and Medical Director” says Michael G. Miller, Paramedic Program Director at Creighton University - EMS Education, “All agree that PEPID-EMS is a valuable tool for the students to have. (I) can’t say how much I enjoy PEPID personally.”
This adoption is part of a larger initiative by PEPID and NAEMSE, National Association of EMS Educators, to get a quality resource in the hands of EMS workers at the point-of-care. Although Creighton University is ahead of the curve, other educational institutions are sure to follow suit.
