Capnography is a valuable tool for EMS providers when treating patients suffering from COPD, asthma, CHF and other forms of dyspnea. In addition to advanced airway verification, capnography is a vital component to measuring the effectiveness of CPR. It provides insight into the severity of the condition, indicates patient improvement during treatment and reveals warning signs of adverse airway and respiratory events which require immediate intervention.
