1. Where did your company name originate from?

After two hours of attempted brainstorming over drinks, we finally decided that if we want people to know who we are, we have to give it to them straight. We wanted to tell the story of how we are trying to bring “innovative cutting-edge technology” to the world of EMS patient reporting. After much debate, it was unanimous. We could not come up with a more straightforward way to portray that than “Cloud PCR.”

2. What was the inspiration behind starting your company?

In the beginning, our goal was pretty simple ... create an awesome PCR that does not suck to fill out.

Our vision has widened now as we try to tackle state bridges, regional systems, billing / full revenue problems. In the end, while the particular product changes, the overall inspiration is still to create awesome stuff that make people’s lives better. Don’t suck, be awesome.

3. Why do you believe your products are essential to the EMS community?

“I love charting,” said no one … ever … seriously, never. We have never talked to an EMS professional that joined the EMS industry for all the great paperwork opportunities — but that is where a lot of time is spent. Our team hates unneeded paperwork too. We make charting less painful through our intuitive UI, and more powerful through our streamlined features.

4. What has been the biggest challenge your company has faced?

The EMS world is not monolithic. Throughout our process, we have discovered that every agency does things just a little different and has a separate set of priorities.

Therefore, we shifted gears from simply providing the “impossible perfect PCR” application, to creating a product that is flexible enough to allow agencies to decide how things should work for them. For example, one of our most beloved features is that we allow agency admins to configure what fields are required, hidden, drop-down options and defaults all based on the patient’s outcome/disposition. The cherry on top is that this all can be configured in a couple of minutes with our easy to use user interface.

5. What do your customers like best about you and your products?

Intuitiveness is hard to measure, but it’s what we pride ourselves on the most. The first thing a new demo customer usually says after using our product is just how ‘intuitive’ everything is. We still get excited when somebody logs in for the first time and fills out their first test trip in a few minutes.

6. What is the most rewarding part of serving the EMS community?

EMS personnel have a lot of important responsibilities. We hope they can do their jobs just a little bit better the more we take off their plate. We do not save lives, but we like to believe we help the people that save lives do their job a little bit more efficiently.

7. Is there any fun fact or trivia that you’d like to share with our users about you or your company?

“Don’t suck, be awesome.”

Our internal motto is what you think it is. In our meetings, we constantly remind ourselves: don’t create software features that are hard to use and “suck.” We want to create software features that are “awesome.”
