Medic’s support of 'burger flippers' hourly wage goes viral
A paramedic's powerful Facebook post slammed complaints against fast food workers earning the same $15 per hour as him after New York raised minimum wage
NEW YORK — A paramedic posted a powerful message on Facebook in response to people complaining over social media that fast food workers will now make as much as them after New York boosted minimum wage to $15 per hour.
Paramedic Jens Rushing said he supports a living wage for any job that exists, and people should be more upset about a CEO who makes 400 times that amount.
“They want us fighting over who has the bigger pile of crumbs so we don't realize they made off with almost the whole damn cake,” Rushing wrote.
The post has gone viral, with close to 31,000 shares and reports by media outlets across the country.
