LA GRANGE, Ky. — The Oldham Ambulance Taxing District board voted 2-0 Monday night to move forward with developing a contract with Baptist Healthcare Affiliates Inc., a nonprofit and the legal name for Baptist Hospital Northeast.
Baptist was the top choice out of the five entities that submitted proposals, said Stan Clark, director of the board and Oldham’s chief financial officer, and Dr. Thomas Clark, a board member and dentist. The men are not related, and the third seat on the board is vacant.
The other four that submitted proposals were for-profit companies: Yellow Ambulance and American Medical Response, which were asked by the board to keep their proposals active in case the district decides not to go with Baptist, and Rural/Metro Corp. and Medic-1 Ambulance Service, whose proposals were denied.
