INDIANAPOLIS — Two Indianapolis EMS workers say the patient they were transporting to Eskenazi Health early Saturday morning stole the ambulance mid-ride and took off, leading IMPD officers on a chase for about 10 miles.
Carl Rochelle, the EMS Public Information Officer, says the patient started to get unruly during the ride on Michigan Street to the hospital.
An IMPD officer happened to be driving behind the ambulance, so the ambulance driver pulled over and the worker in the back got out to tell the officer what was happening.
