EDMOND, Okla. — Jim Gardner and Bob Mills SkyNews 9 HD were in the air Tuesday over the scene of an accident involving a truck and an ambulance. Ambulances are usually in a hurry to get somewhere when responding to an emergency or accident, but Tuesday afternoon an ambulance was part of an accident when an EMSA unit and green dodge truck collided.

“I thought maybe a vehicle hit a building,” Tad Kennedy said.

People nearby thought the wreck sounded like an explosion. The truck was heading east on Edmond Road when the 17-year-old boy, who was driving, crossed the center line and hit the ambulance head on, pinning the teen and crushing his legs.
