FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, N.J. — An ambulance transporting a patient was involved in a crash over the weekend.
The ambulance had its lights and sirens activated when it rear-ended another vehicle, whose driver said they did not hear the sirens.
“The car didn’t yield to the ambulance. At the same time, emergency vehicles are supposed to use caution when they are en route,” Sgt. Christopher DeAngelo told the app.com.
Following the incident, the ambulance continued its patient transport; the patient was not injured in the crash.
The driver of the other vehicle was also transported to the hospital after complaining of chest pain.
The crash remains under investigation.
