WASHINGTON — An elderly woman was transported to a hospital in a fire truck after an ambulance never showed up.
My Fox DC reported that a 90-year-old woman had to wait at least 45 minutes to be taken to the hospital after an ambulance that was sent never showed up.
An engine crew took the woman to the hospital after she fell unconscious while waiting, according to the report. The ambulance crew had been rerouted to another call.
D.C. Fire and EMS confirmed the incident and it is currently under investigation, according to the report.
