HOUMA, La. — A Houma woman received a jolt in the checkout line of a Rouse’s Supermarket Monday afternoon; the jolt was a lightning strike that hit Lakeisha Brooks, 33, inside the store.
Brooks was paying for her items about 2 p.m. when a flash of lightning hit her inside the store at 561 Grand Caillou Road.
When Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office deputied arrived at the store, “officers noticed the victim received injuries to her left leg and right foot which appeared to be burn marks,” Chief Todd Duplantis said.
