TRUCKSVILLE, Pa. — The Trucksville Volunteer EMS and Fire & Rescue Association were awarded a total of $404,715 in grants from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security through the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, D-Scranton, announced the award Friday and said it will be used for operations and safety and vehicle acquisition. There were two separate grants of $122,000 and $282,715.

“Pennsylvania’s firefighters endure risk and sacrifice every day to keep their community safe,” said Casey. “This money will help provide Luzerne County’s firefighters with the resources they need to ensure their safety and the safety of those they serve.”
