KEY LARGO, Fla. — A man was arrested after fleeing from police on a golf cart, attacking a paramedic and fighting with deputies, according to officials.

Local 10 reported that Parks Terry was allegedly swerving and running stop signs in a golf cart and refused to stop as police chased him.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Adam Linhardt said Terry was yelling obscenities and giving them the middle finger before he drove to a house and locked himself inside.

Lindhart said Terry attacked a paramedic who entered the home through a side door and wrestled him to the ground.

Deputy Brandon White smashed a window with his baton after Terry refused his orders to stop fighting with the paramedic, but when White tried to unlock the door a woman held her body against it to keep it closed, according to Lindhardt.

Police eventually managed to get inside and subdue Terry.

“Deputy White reported Terry began growling like a dog and rubbing his face in the broken glass on the floor,” Lindhardt said.

Terry fought with police officers as he was arrested. He said his shoulder was dislocated, so he was transported to a hospital for treatment before being taken to jail.
