NORWALK. Conn. — A Norwalk man attacked paramedics who tried to revive him after he suffered an apparent drug overdose on a city bus, police said.

Police responded to the bus depot on Burnell Boulevard at 5:43 p.m. Thursday on reports of a man unconscious inside a bus.

Paramedics arrived and began trying to revive the man, later identified as 28-year-old Andre McCrae, when he awoke and “grew combative,” Sgt. Sofia Gulino said.

McCrae was eventually “subdued,” Gulino said, and was taken to Norwalk Hospital for treatment.

Police said that, during the incident, a BB gun was found in McCrae’s pocket.

McCrae was later arrested and charged with breach of peace, interfering with an officer and carrying a dangerous weapon. He was held on $50,000 bond and given a court date of Dec. 18.
