PHOENIX — A Phoenix Fire Department paramedic was arrested Friday after police caught him holding a trash bag containing 20 pounds of marijuana during a drug sting.
Robert Cole, 30, was arrested Friday and faces narcotics charges after the Drug Enforcement Administration had his house under surveillance because it was suspected as a being a growing operation, FOX News reports.
According to court documents, officers saw Cole pull up in a truck and load several black backs into the back of the pickup. They stopped him nearby, smelled marijuana, and found nearly 20 pounds inside the bags.
Police say he was trying to earn some extra cash on the side, by selling marijuana. The drugs were turned over to the DEA.
Cole served in the U.S. Marine Corps and worked for the City of Phoenix for the past seven years. He faces two felony counts of possession of marijuana for sale, and transporting marijuana for sale.
