SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Healthcare workers, police officers, firefighters and EMS providers working to keep people healthy and safe during the coronavirus pandemic can get free meals at McDonald’s starting Wednesday.

The meals, called “Thank You Meals,” allow these frontline workers to get a free meal daily between April 22 through May 5.

It is offered at breakfast, lunch and dinner. All workers have to do is show their badge.

The “Thank You Meals” include a choice of an Egg McMuffin, Chicken McGriddle or a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit for breakfast, which all include any size soft drink, tea or hot coffee and a Hash Brown. For lunch or dinner, options include a Double Cheeseburger, 6-Piece Chicken McNuggets or a Filet-O-Fish, which also all come with a soft drink, tea or hot coffee and small fries.

It is served in a happy meal box but instead of a toy, workers will get a note of appreciation.

“As local business owners, we know that our communities need us now more than ever and we’re committed to continuing to serve them,” Cherag Selhi, a Boston-area owner/operator, said in the press release. “We are proud to be able support our neighbors who are on the frontlines as first responders and healthcare workers with Thank You Meals.”
