PULASKI TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Beaver County 911 dispatcher has been suspended without pay after she was charged with overdosing in front of two children, officials said.

Beaver County Emergency Services Director Wes Hill said Brittany R. Trainer, 25, had recently completed training and began working for the 911 center as a part-time employee.

Officers were called at about 9:40 p.m. Sept. 12 to Trainer’s Pulaski Township home for a report of a person overdosing, police said. According to a police report, officers found Trainer laying between her living room and kitchen, barely breathing, with two children sitting beside her. Police said Medic Rescue was called to administer Narcan, a drug which reverses overdoses.

Officers spoke to her husband, James Trainer, 31, who was in the home, and asked him what drugs Brittany Trainer took, police said. According to the report, James Trainer was frantic and running around. Police said he was “barely” watching the 1 and 3-year-old who were in the home, and told them all of Brittany’s “stuff” was in the bathroom.

Inside the bathroom, police found several empty stamp bags of heroin and drug paraphernalia, police said. According to the report, police also found an uncapped syringe on the kitchen counter.

Police said both of the children had full access to the syringes and empty stamp bags.

James and Brittany Trainer, both of 3305 47th St., are charged by New Brighton Area police with endangering the welfare of a child.

Hill said Brittany Trainer will remain on suspension until further notice.
