Fire, EMS agencies celebrate National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week
What's in a name? From dispatchers to telecommunicators or "headset heroes," social posts show appreciation for the "first, first responders"
By Rachel Engel
This week was National Public Safety Telecommunicator's Week, and organizations across the country shared their support and appreciation for the work of what many consider to be the first, first responders.
Through gifts, goody bags, breakfast buffets, signs, taco bars and more, the overall message remained the same: Thank you for all you do.
Let us know how you showed appreciation to your dispatch crews this week in the comments below!

It's National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. The voices on the other side of a 9-1-1 call are the first "First Responders". They're available all day, all night, weekends and holidays to handle what is - for many - their worst day possible. https://t.co/qDtQbj2Mxl pic.twitter.com/zXxtBrbg5w
