Mont. paramedic, volunteer FF dies of COVID-19 on his birthday

COLUMBIA FALLS, Mont. — Firefighter/Paramedic Captain Michael Nordmark — who served with both Three Rivers EMS and the Bad Rock Volunteer Fire Department — died on Oct. 7.

According to a fundraiser for his family, Nordmark was hospitalized for COVID-19 in September, and he passed away on his birthday. He was 46.

In a Facebook post, Three Rivers EMS described Nordmark as a proud paramedic and volunteer firefighter.

“1405 will be a retired number at Three Rivers, but will forever be in our hearts. Thank you for your courage, your friendship, and your sacrifice, Michael. Fly high, Brother...” the post reads.

Nordmark enjoyed DJing, according to his obituary.

He is survived by his wife, sister, mother, and other family members and friends.
