CHURCHPOINT, La. — A Louisiana paramedic who transported a woman with Down syndrome to the hospital last week surprised her on Valentine’s Day with a special dance.

KLFY.com reported the woman, Vickie, was scared of the trip to the hospital but agreed to go after paramedic Jamie Bergeron promised her a surprise.

Bergeron made good on that promise when he showed up at Vickie’s nursing home on Valentine’s Day. Bergeron, who is part of the band Jamie Bergeron and the Kickin’ Cajuns, brought Vickie an autographed CD and took time to dance with her.

Vickie and her family were thankful for the special treat.

“That meant everything to her! I just wanted to say thanks to Jamie Bergeron and Acadian Ambulance for expressing such a wonderful act of kindness,” Vickie’s sister-in-law said.
