FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The driver of a semi was trapped for hours, after crashing into a sound barrier on I-69 Tuesday morning.

Dmitry Naumov, 49, of Oakville, Ontario Canada, was in the hospital in critical condition as of Wednesday morning.

“Something caused the semi-truck driver who is southbound on 69 to leave the road. A witness reported the semi-truck driver went off the road into the sound barrier and came to a halt,” said Chris Felton, Public Information Officer of the Fort Wayne Police Department. First responders said the impact pinned Naumov from the waist down.
