DECATUR, Ill. — A man was charged with aggravated battery after allegedly hitting an EMT while exiting an ambulance.
WJBD Radio reported that Randy Caswell was transported to the hospital by Lifestar Ambulance after complaining of shortness of breath. Police said when he was exiting the ambulance, he hit an EMT in the arm. Caswell then allegedly verbally attacked the crew when they tried to get him on a hospital bed. He also allegedly lunged at an EMT and hit her in the stomach.
Caswell was transported to jail from the hospital. His hearing is set for Sept. 26.
