BIRMINGHAM, England — A paramedic was assaulted after an argument apparently broke out about how the crew parked their ambulance.
BBC reported that a crew was responding to a call about a woman with chest pains when a man allegedly assaulted one paramedic and threatened another.
“Unfortunately myself and a crewmate were threatened, verbally abused … my crewmate was assaulted,” paramedic Tasha Starkey said in a tweet. “The reason you may ask? Because we had parked parallel to their car (NOT blocking the road).”

The unidentified paramedic suffered an arm injury and the patient was transported to a hospital by another crew. Police said they arrested a man for the incident.
West Midlands Ambulance Service tweeted that the incident was “even more frustrating than normal” due to the fact that their staff was working in “treacherous conditions” to treat patients.

“It is disgusting, it is increasing and it is time that the courts started issuing harsh penalties,” paramedic operational manager Mike Duggan said.
