YORKTOWN, Ind. — A woman was arrested and charged with felony neglect after her infant son overdosed on opioids.

FOX43 reported that Levi Hoyt, 1, was taken to the hospital in critical condition and revived with naloxone.

The infant’s mother, Daisha Clark, saw Hoyt with a plastic bag in his mouth before he reportedly stopped breathing, according to Hoyt’s cousin, Cody Young, who brought him to the hospital.

Young told police that Clark did not want him to bring the baby to the hospital, saying he “had only bitten a bottle of bug spray and that he was OK.”

Clark was on house arrest at the time of the incident. Police said they found evidence of heroin use at her home.

Clark was charged with neglect of a dependent, possession of a syringe and possession of paraphernalia.
