LEE COUNTY, Fla. — In a world where drivers don’t pay attention and drive a little too fast through neighborhoods, neighborhood associations turn to speed bumps to remind drivers to slow down.
But that little bump also slows down people who hurry for a good reason like ambulances.
“You can’t always avoid the streets with speed bumps,” said Paramedic Mike Edwards, “You have to go over them which means you gotta slow down. That slows down the response time probably thirty seconds 45 seconds to get over these speed bumps with this ambulance.”
