Pa. paramedic accused of stealing painkillers

PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. — A paramedic accused of stealing high-powered painkillers from the Plymouth Community Ambulance Association has waived a preliminary hearing.

Police say 36-year-old Douglass Entenman swapped the painkiller Fentanyl for a substance he told investigators was saline to feed a drug habit. Eventually, a fellow ambulance worker noticed the vials had been tampered with.

Entenman had worked at PCAA for a couple of weeks at the time of his arrest, and ambulance company officials say he was fired immediately. Investigators said they found no evidence any patients had been injected with the suspected saline.
