WAVERLY, Tenn. — After 10 days of combing through the river where a missing firefighter-EMT’s Jeep was found submerged, officials are calling his disappearance “a mystery.”
ABC News reported that search crews are utilizing underwater sonar, drones and helicopters to look for Nashville Fire Department firefighter-EMT Jesse Reed, who has not been seen since his Jeep was found in the Tennessee River March 6.
Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis said it’s still unclear how Reed’s vehicle ended up in the river.
“This a mystery and everyone wants to try to figure it out,” Davis’ Facebook post said. “This has been a difficult situation for all of us in the public safety profession. Of course, it is also an unimaginable ordeal for the family and friends of Jesse.”
The department added that one of the “silver linings” of the case is “listening to the funny stories about Jesse.”
“It is a true testament at the man he is,” the department said. “Please keep the family and friends in your prayers.”
