IAEMSC Membership Selects Chief Lawrence Tan as President-Elect

The International Association of Emergency Medical Service Chiefs today announced the selection of Chief Lawrence Tan of New Castle County (DE) EMS as the IAEMSC President-Elect. Chief Tan was chosen by the membership for this position subsequent to an election conducted last week. Results were independently tallied and validated, with no ballots contested.

Chief Paul M. Maniscalco, IAEMSC President said “Chief Tan is an incredible EMS professional who represents the highest traditions and standards of EMS. Over the course of his distinguished career he has helped to advance the discipline as we know it today. His involvement in EMS and the IAEMSC has fostered contributions that have further refined and advanced the discipline. I am proud to pass the mantle of leadership to such a distinguished and respected professional. The IAEMSC looks forward to his continued contributions, reaping the benefits of his vision and leadership that will guide us to continued excellence.”

Chief Lawrence Tan will assume the IAEMSC Presidency on March 1, 2010.

Additionally, IAEMSC announced that balloting on the IAEMSC proposed Bylaws for the governance of the organization was unanimously approved be the membership. The new Bylaws are enacted immediately.
