NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Nashville Fire Department is rolling out eight new Squad Response Trucks to enhance emergency services in Metro Nashville-Davidson County’s rapidly expanding areas.
These mini-pumpers will be specifically placed to shorten response times, reduce the wear on larger equipment and improve overall emergency service quality in the community, the department stated on social media.
Over the next few weeks, the trucks will be assigned to various stations, with personnel undergoing training on operating these new vehicles.
“The introduction of these Squad Response Trucks underscores the NFD’s dedication to innovation and adapting to the evolving needs of Metro Nashville-Davidson County,” Director Chief William Swann stated. “I am eager to see the positive impact these vehicles will have on our ability to assist both residents and visitors of our city.”
The trucks are equipped to handle a variety of emergencies, including vehicle accidents, elevator rescues, medical emergencies and more. Each truck is outfitted with extrication tools, medical supplies, elevator keys and a compressed air foam system.
